SWEAT TREATMENTS
For the reduction of excessive sweating
Btx is the most effective therapy for treating excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis axillae). The active ingredient is injected in small amounts directly into the skin using a fine needle. This treatment not only reduces excessive sweating but also significantly decreases unpleasant odors.
Btx blocks the release of acetylcholine at nerve endings, inhibiting the activity of the sweat glands. This leads to a significant reduction in sweat production. It is used for focal hyperhidrosis, such as in the underarms (axillary hyperhidrosis), on the forehead and temples, and, less commonly, on the hands and feet (palmoplantar hyperhidrosis).
